POSTING...POSTING!

AS YOU CAN SEE FROM THE PICTURES BELOW, SWIM CHAMPIONSHIPS HAPPENED THIS PAST SATURDAY. EARLY TO RISE 5:30, AND AT THE POOL BY 6:20. IT WAS REALLY COOL, EVERYONE HAD BROUGHT TENTS AND SO IT LOOKED LIKE ONE MASSIVE GROUP OF CAMPING PEOPLE. WE MADE SURE WE SAT WITH OUR FRIENDS THAT WAY DURING BREAKS THE KIDS HAD OTHER KIDS TO PLAY WITH AND WE DIDN'T HAVE TO GO HUNT THEM DOWN. DURING WARM UP'S SOMEONE RAN INTO MERCEDEZ WHEN SHE WAS GETTING READY TO GET ON THE BLOCK AND AS A RESULT HER LEFT THIGH WAS CUT UP PRETTY BADLY. IF ANYONE OF YOU HAVE EVER GOTTEN INTO A POOL WITH AN OPEN WOUND YOU KNOW HOW BAD I FELT FOR HER. SHE WAS IN A LOT OF PAIN, BUT DIDN'T WANT TO GIVE UP, ESPECIALLY WHEN MOM TOLD HER SHE COULD DO IT AND THEN GET A BLIZZARD AFTERWARD. SHE IS A TROOPER, AFTER EVERY RACE SHE WOULD GO AND RINSE OFF THE BLOOD AND THEN START ALL OVER.
HEAT INFORMATION, SO THAT YOU KNOW WHAT THEY SWAM...
SPENCER
25 METER FREESTYLE
25 METER BREASTSTROKE
25 METER BACKSTROKE
100 METER MEDLY RELAY
100 METER FREESTYLE RELAY
AND HE CAME OUT COMING IN 8TH PLACE OVER ALL IN THE FREESTYLE (CRAWL), THAT IS AWESOME.
MERCEDEZ
100 METER MEDOLY RELAY
25 METER FREESTYLE
25 METER BUTTERFLY
25 METER BACKSTROKE
100 METER FREESTYLE RELAY
WE ARE VERY PROUD OF HER ALSO, NO METALS BUT SHE IMPROVED SO MUCH.
THEY COMPETED AGAINST 6 OTHER TEAMS AND TO BREAK THAT DOWN, THEY PERSONALLY SWAM AGAINST 49 OTHER SWIMMERS EACH TIME. PLUS THEY ONLY GIVE MEDALS FOR 1ST-15TH PLACE, I BELIEVE IN MOST OF THEIR HEATS THEY CAME IN BETWEEN 19-25, SO WE SHALL SEE WHAT NEXT YEAR BRINGS.

A book or a novel?

Today is Friday, can't believe it. Where did that week go?
Our week has been full, with scattered moments of freedom. The kids had another swimming meet on Tuesday, we didn't take pictures..sometimes it's more of a hassel trying to keep the camera away from water. Meredez took 6th in the backstroke, going from 37.55 seconds to 33.88 seconds. Spencer is having a more difficult time placing simply because his age group of boys is very competitive and they come in within a second or so of each other. It is frustrating for him, and I have explained that by next year he will be able to dive off the block and then nothing will stop him. The jumping off the block is where he looses his 1 second.
Yesterday we enjoyed a day at the pool with friends and then last night the kids had a softball game. I had a planning meeting so didn't attend, but they looked sun burned and tired at 9:00 when they came home.
Today is prep day for the swim championship tomorrow. The kids are going to have to get up around 6 and be at the pool (40 minutes away) by 7. It is going to be almost 90 and the meet lasts till 5 or so...I am trying to make sure I have everything they will need for shade, food, games, sleep, sitting, you name it. We will post pictures of the day so all can see.

The past week for our family

The kids playing in Nanny's pool with our friends the Murdocks
We spent 4 1/2 hour yesterday just letting them relax after a week of sports.
Here sister is with dad, playing the position of left center. Let me add that after this game in 80 degree weather and 80 percent humidity, they both had to swim in the second part of their swim team meet. So they started at 5:30 and went until 10:30 that night non stop..talk about tired. Mercedez didn't even wake up till 11:15 the next morning and that was only because I woke her to go to Nanny's pool.
Here sister is batting, which I shouldn't brag BUT she does a great job...
And there she goes off to second. I finally figured how to do the sport shots....
And it's a strike for Spencer, but that didn't last long, he was able to hit it to outfield and two of his team members came in....
He's bringing in his sister....from third base..
Because it is a rookie league the pitcher (Spencer) really doesn't pitch, but he have to get it and do all the other things a pitcher does...This day he was on his game and played some nice play's
Now he's off for 1st
This is the only picture I got of their meet on the 26th, reason, a huge thunderstorm blew in and we had to sit in the rain for 1+ till the meet was called. She was the only child of ours to compeite that night, and it was in the first relay, here you can see her teamate touching the wall and her jumping in.
